This song was written within the confines of one of the longest and strictest lockdowns in the world during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have worked in the service industry during the entire pandemic, repeating the same paper-thin conversations with the general public. We feel so powerless, despairing and desperate for change, yet we smile and have superficial small talk from behind our triple layer masks - the show must go on. This is my silent scream behind the empty question, "how about you?"
